Lu and I decided that today was the day. She was feeling better so we loaded up and headed out to the super secret range to shoot the match.
A reminder. Both Lu and I shot our Ruger 10-22's with el cheapo 4 power fixed scopes. The rifles are totally stock. We were shooting Winchester T22.
Lu and Bubba.
The range was 25 yards, confirmed by laser range finder.
Here are our results. Lu shot a 2 and my best was an 8. Not exactly world class but we did our best and had a lot of fun. A sunny day, two 22's, a buttload of ammunition and a pretty girl to share them with. How can that not be a good day?
This was a lot harder than I expected. After the first or second 5 shot string your arms get a little tired and the crosshairs tend to wander a bit. The tendency is to try and mash the trigger when they cross the target and it's hard to resist that impulse. I'm pretty sure we're not going to be taking home any web trophy's but we also didn't embarrass ourselves. Our thanks to Borepatch for the inspiration and ASM826 for handling the logistics and putting the shoot together. The only way it could have been better would be to have everyone together.
We're now hooked on this kind of competition and we're up for another. Iron sighted military bolts at 100 yards anyone? My 03A3 is whispering in my ear.

Thanks Gene. We've been married 33 years this coming August. That's a lot of tolerance from one woman :)!
